A proposal to conduct 2000+ VBS
in the various states of India in the
year 2010

This is a vision that
needs to be shared with the Lord's people. We need to generate
a lot of prayer support from the Lord's people to overcome many
barriers for the fulfillment of this vision. Language was a
major barrier and by God's grace we have overcome that obstacle
by translating the VBS materials in 15 of the major Indian
languages. Now we need to conduct VBS teacher's training in all
the states and print VBS materials in 15 languages. Please pray
and share this vision with others so that this vision of
conducting over 2000+ VBS will become a reality in 2010. In
order to help the Sunday School children and families in your
assembly to get actively involved in this ministry, a VBS
sponsorship form is attached. Please do the needful. If you

Printing of all VBS
materials in 15 major languages to be completed by January 2010, for an
estimated 250,000+ children -- money is needed for printing the
workbooks, audio visual materials, etc., and also for shipping the
materials to various destinations in all the states of India (just 20
cents per workbook). |

VBS teachers training
in all the states of India -- about 50 teachers per location. Travel
expenses, accommodation, training materials, food, etc. for
trainers and teachers must be provided. Those trained would possibly
continue to teach VBS in the years to come. Training has already
begun and we need to train an additional 1000 teachers for the next
year. |

Funds are needed to pay
for the travel expenses of needy teachers, refreshments for students,
and in some cases rent for auditorium and equipments, etc. -- this is a
variable expense. On an average about 150 children attend each
VBS.

The Brethren Sunday School Books for Grade 1 through 12
in various
Indian languages

A good Sunday School is the sign of a healthy local
assembly. The Brethren Sunday School books are unique teaching
materials prepared for teaching the children and adults. Teaching
these books systematically will provide our children a good
foundation in the Biblical doctrines and equip them for service of
our Master for the rest of their lives. These books are now
available in English and Malayalam. For a long time we wanted to
put these simple but solid teaching materials into the hands of the
elders, deacons and Sunday school teachers in the other language
groups in India. Good quality translation was a problem. By God’s
grace we have overcome that obstacle and right now we are awaiting
funds to print the books in several languages -- at least
upto the 7th Grade. The initial printing cost of one book is
approximately $2500. If funds are made available, we could speed up
the printing of these graded Sunday School curriculum for Grades 1
through 7 in any language for a total cost of $17,500 and make these
available to all the assemblies in all states of India. Please
consider sponsoring all the books in a language or at least one book
in any of the languages listed below. By making these books
available to local assemblies and various Bible institutions all
over India, we are laying the foundation for strong and Biblically
sound local assemblies in the various language groups in India.
